Carol Rondinelli , Artist/Painter

Carol Rondinelli has developed her craft over the past thirty five years.  Her career as an artist began on a whim.  Inspired to paint cartoon characters for her young daughters’ playroom, she first tried her hand at acrylic painting.  Though she has worked with a variety of subjects and styles over the past three decades, her favorites involve florals and wildlife.  These compositions are characterized by their vibrant colors and striking contrasts.

In addition to having studied commercial art at Johnson County Community College in the Overland Park, Kansas area, Rondinelli has been tutored by such noted artists as Robert Gunn, (5 yrs.) Lee Hammond, (17 yrs.)  and  Bob Byerly (workshops). Over the course of her career she has won numerous “Best of Show,” “Finalist Designation,” and “Purchase Award” accolades.  Her one-person shows have been featured at libraries, medical centers, bookstores and Rainbow Gallery.  Her work has been included in 2010 Gallery in Kansas City, Missouri.  .  Rondinelli has provided illustrations for the Ozark Literary Anthology.  She has completed commissions for high school yearbooks, undertaken several mascot paintings for Olathe (Kansas) District Schools #233, and served as illustrator for the Church of the Resurrection in Leawood, Kansas.  Copies of her original compositions are held in private collections across the United States and as far away as New Zealand.

For the past seven years Rondinelli has taught colored pencil and graphite classes at Independent Senior Living Centers in Kansas City.  The ongoing experience has been personally rewarding. When not teaching or composing new works in her home studio, Rondinelli enjoys spending time with her daughters and their families.  Always on the look-out for new compositional subjects, she has visited zoo libraries & botanical gardens across the country in search of photographs which serve as points of reference for her colored pencil works. For the past 2 years she has hosted an Art Club in her studio where she gives instruction on a weekly basis. In June 2018 Janice Jensen became an Art Representative for Carol’s art work.

Carol Rondinelli’s passion in life is to depict through her art the magnificent creations God has given us. By calling attention to them, she hopes it will help people to “Stop and Smell the Roses of Life.”
