Tom Moore, Artist
Tom Moore was a gifted artist, who, for twenty-five years worked and excelled in many artistic arenas, including graphic design, printmaking, and oil and acrylic painting. This part of his career was cut short by the onset of Parkinson’s disease.
For the next twenty-five years Moore started to explore other art mediums and stopped thinking about what he could make that would appeal to potential patrons. He used watercolors, colored pencils and ink to sketch, in spite of his tremor, images of superheroes and comic book characters.
Whereas his earlier works were those he might have felt obliged to create because they were in fashion, these represented what he drew “to maintain sanity.”
A treasure trove of his works early works was recently discovered. Kansas Love is a part of that collection.
